ST HELENS 8TH GRADER RECOGNIZED

St. Helens Youth Football recognized Aaron Hastings as the 2011 winner of the annual St. Helens Athlete of Notable Excellence (SHANE) award. Aaron was selected by the SHYFL Board with input from his coaches and the St. Helens Middle School staff. Requirements to be considered for the award include being a good teammate on and off the field, never giving up regardless of the circumstances, representing the SHYF program as a shining example of an outstanding student athlete at all times and being a solid student. It was dedicated in 2008 in the memory of Shane Stephens and is awarded to one 8th grade player who has played with SHYFL for 3 years at the end of each season. Other nominees for the 2011 award were Michael Bowen, Bryce Bumgardner, Logan Carter and Kyle Ruege. Aaron is pictured here with his coach, Nate Eggars.
